Jammu, May 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party J&K president Ravinder Raina on Saturday voted for the Apni Party candidate Zafar Iqbal Manhas who contested from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency, a senior BJP leader said.
Vibodh Gupta told Rising Kashmir that the party is in support of Altaf Bukhari’s party and has recently taken out a rally in favour of its candidate.
“We are supporting the Apni Party and have activated our cadre to ensure the victory of its candidate in the Annatnag-Rajouri seat,” Gupta said.
Given this open support, it is assumed that Raina voted for the Apni Party candidate.
The Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat witnessed polling on Saturday during the sixth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, recording the highest voter turnout in the past 35 years, with over 53% participation.
Ravinder Raina exercised his franchise in his home constituency in the Rajouri district. He expressed gratitude to the voters for turning up in large numbers to strengthen democracy in the Union Territory.
