New Delhi, Apr 06: Responding to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remark questioning the relevance of discussing Kashmir in Rajasthan, Union Minister of Home and Cooperation Amit Shah condemned the statement, emphasizing the integral nature of Jammu and Kashmir within India.
Launching a scathing attack on X, Shah wrote, “It is shameful to hear that the Congress party is asking, ‘Kashmir se kya waasta hai’. “I would like to remind the Congress party that J&K is an integral part of India, and every state and citizen has the right over J&K, just as the people of J&K have the right over the rest of India,” he added.
Shah expressed concern over the statement, labeling it as “shameful” and emphasising the integral status of Jammu and Kashmir within India. He criticized the Congress for what he perceived as a lack of understanding of India’s unity, attributing it partly to what he termed the “Italian culture” within the party. Shah highlighted the sacrifices made by Rajasthan’s citizens for peace in Kashmir and stressed the significance of every state and citizen in maintaining the nation’s integrity.
Shah also took a dig at the Congress, stating that it wasn’t Article 371 but Article 370 that was abrogated by the Modi government.
Concluding his remarks, Shah lamented the longstanding consequences of what he described as the Congress party’s historical mistakes, asserting that such blunders have continued to haunt the nation.
It is pertinent to mention that recently Mallikarjun Kharge has made a statement about Jammu and Kashmir asking why the BJP and its leader, PM Narendra Modi, were talking about Jammu and Kashmir in Rajasthan. He also went on to ask, ‘Kashmir se kya wasta hai.
