JAMMU, Aug 18: In the wake of the Election Commission of India’s announcement for Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP Election Committee convened a strategy session on Sunday, bringing together leaders from all 17 organisational districts of the Union Territory.
The meeting, which began in the afternoon and is expected to continue into the early hours of Monday, aims to fine-tune the party’s approach for the upcoming elections. The Election Committee includes key figures such as Union Minister and J&K Election Incharge G Krishna Reddy, J&K Affairs Incharge Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, Core Group members, and strategists from Northern States.
Reliable sources revealed that the meeting’s focus is on gathering feedback from district units on various aspects, including caste combinations, voter inclinations, and strategies to increase vote share. Leaders are also being tasked with addressing the decline in BJP’s vote share during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and formulating plans to reverse this trend in the Assembly elections.
As of the filing of this report, the committee had completed discussions with nine district teams, with the marathon meeting set to conclude around 1:30 am.
