Budgam, Nov 22: Addressing a deeply emotional Friday congregation at Imambara Budgam, Aga Syed Hassan Mousvi Safvi, President of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Shian, made an impassioned appeal to international human rights organizations to take immediate and decisive action against the continued massacre of Shias in Pakistan.
Standing before a sea of mourners, Aga Syed Hassan expressed his anguish:
“The persistent slaughter of innocent Shias in Pakistan is a blatant violation of human rights and a stain on the conscience of the global community. How many more lives must be lost before the so-called caretakers of international law open their eyes to this brutality? Silence in the face of oppression is nothing short of complicity.”
He condemned the Pakistani authorities for their failure to curb sectarian violence and protect the lives of their minority citizens. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he added:
“The systematic targeting of Shias is not just a local issue; it is a global humanitarian crisis. The United Nations, the International Criminal Court, and other human rights organizations must intervene immediately. Pakistan must be held accountable for its negligence and failure to uphold the basic rights of its citizens. These massacres are not isolated incidents but part of a coordinated campaign of hatred and genocide.”
Expressing solidarity with the victims, Aga Syed Hassan offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs:
“To the families who have lost their loved ones, we stand with you in grief and resilience. Your sacrifices are not forgotten, and the martyrs will always be remembered as the defenders of truth and justice. May Allah elevate their ranks among the most righteous and grant their families the strength to bear this unbearable loss.”
He further emphasized the role of the international community in preventing future atrocities:
“The international community must act now to prevent this systematic annihilation of Shias. Human rights are universal, and protecting the oppressed is a moral obligation for all. Pakistan’s government must be pressured to take definitive steps to dismantle extremist networks and ensure the safety of all its citizens, regardless of their sect or belief.”
Concluding the sermon, Aga Syed Hassan invoked a prayer for unity and peace:
“May Allah guide the oppressors to justice and strengthen the oppressed with faith and perseverance. Let us unite against tyranny and be the voice for those who can no longer speak for themselves. The martyrs’ sacrifices will not be in vain.”
The gathering echoed with prayers and slogans of solidarity, as the congregation pledged to continue advocating for justice and peace under the guidance of Aga Syed Hassan Mousvi Safvi.
