Srinagar, Nov 12: The selection committee for Poshan Abhiyaan in Budgam district has come under criticism for failing to upload the provisional selection list of Anganwadi workers on the district website.

Various Anganwadi Worker aspirants on Wednesday said that they had applied for the posts of Anganwadi Workers under Child Development Project Officers in Budgam under the Poshan Abhiyaan scheme in June this year in response to the advertisement of the project in the district.

One of the aspirants from Beerwah, Budgam told Rising Kashmir that “the provisional selection list mentioning the names, grades and other details was published by the department in local newspapers in July. Now the department has conveyed that those posts will be re-advertised, that will be injustice with us, she said.

“It is being done to accommodate blue eyed candidates in this list. It is unfortunate that some officers at the district administration are playing with the career of aspirants for their own departmental faults,” the aspirant said.

Another aspirant from Khan Sahib Budgam said that they have been moving from pillar to post and waiting for their formal appointment orders which have not been issued yet by the district administration Budgam. It is unfortunate that the fault of the selection committee has put our career at stake,” she said.

She said that there is no fault from the side of aspiring candidates whose provisional selection list was published in newspapers. “We are deserving candidates. Then why did the department publish the selection list in newspapers and deceive us,” aspirant questioned.

“We have been suffering. We want justice. We have been waiting for the appointment orders. We want the intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, CM Omar Abdullah, Mission Director, ICDS J&K and District Administration headed by DC Budgam to probe into the matter,” she added.

Mission Director, ICDS, J&K, Kishori Lal Sharma told Rising Kashmir that they have not yet taken any decision in this regard and they will discuss the matter with the Secretary.

“I have talked to the ADDC Budgam. I will talk to the Secretary to see what directions come and then only we will take the decision.  The provisional selection list has already appeared in the newspapers months before,” he said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Ashiq Hussain Lilly said they have approved cases of those whose advertisement was uploaded on district website.

“We have to see the implementation of HR Policy-2022. Wherever the HR policy has been implemented we have approved those cases. Wherever HR policy hasn’t been followed, the cases of those are pending,” he said. “I have written to the Mission Director and Deputy Commissioner Budgam about the matter,” he said.

Another official at the department wishing anonymity said that the selection committee and other concerned officers or officials have then failed to upload the advertisements on the district website. “It is the fault of the selection committee who should be taken to task for their failure,” the official said.

“Some of the officers want their kith and kin to get appointed and that is why they have not uploaded the selection list on the district website,” he added.

Meanwhile as per the notices published in newspapers by the Office of CDPO reads that ‘thus provisional selection list has been framed on the merit basis. The meritorious candidates have been provisionally selected against the vacant posts.

“The provisional merit list of each ward has been thoroughly scrutinized by the Selection Committee and the eligible candidates have been provisionally selected against each post,” it said.
