Admin accelerates work on Bailey bridge built on Nallah Sindh

Ganderbal, Sep 18:  Due to frequent traffic jams, authorities have accelerated the work of Bailey bridge built on Nallah Sindh near Wayil in Central Kashmirs Ganderbal district.
Superintendent Engineer Sajad Naqeeb along with Executive Engineer (R&B) Ganderbal and other officials of the department inspected the progress of work on Bailey bridge built over Sindh Near Wayil area.
The SE (R&B) told Rising Kashmir that Wayil Bailey Bridge is likely to be completed by the December end.
He said that the two lane bridge is approved at the cost of Rs 23.79 crores funded by World Bank.
He said that the span of the bridge is 110 meters and width is 10.50 meters besides, length of approach roads is 330 meters.
According to locals, tourists use this bridge to visit several famous tourist and pilgrim destinations including Sonamarg, Naranag and Amarnath shrine situated in different areas of the district.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shyambir visited the spot and directed the executing agency to expedite the work progress so that it gets completed within stipulated time.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the people of Ganderbal and said that the launching of arch truss is a historic movement and to construct permanent concrete bridge over nallah Sindh near Wayil was a long pending demand. 
He also complemented the executing agency for launching arch truss girders successfully in a short period of time adding that more such unique engineering development works will be taken up in the district.
