Srinagar, Jan 19: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, asserted on Friday that anti-terror operations in the region will remain the top priority for both the police and security forces. Accompanied by Dr. Haseeb Mughal, IPS DIG R/P Range Rajouri, ADGP Jammu presided over a Security and Crime Review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO) in Poonch.
During the meeting, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch provided a comprehensive briefing on the Preparedness and Prevention Tactics (PPT) employed in ongoing anti-terror operations. The focus was on the steps being taken to eradicate terrorism from the district.
The primary agenda of the gathering was to deliberate on the recent attack on security forces. It was acknowledged that there is a discernible resurgence of terrorism in the district. However, both the police and security forces resolved to implement robust countermeasures to address the issue right from its inception.
Emphasizing the need for vigilant surveillance, the Chair urged constant monitoring of all subversive activities transpiring in Poonch district. With the understanding that the enemy country consistently seeks to disrupt peace and tranquility, it was stressed that proactive measures must be in place to thwart any such attempts.
The meeting underscored the collective commitment of the police and security forces to ensure the safety and security of the region, particularly in the face of evolving security challenges.
