Ganderbal, Jan 27: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a patwari while demanding and accepting a bribe in this central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An ACB official said the bureau received a complaint against Tariq Ahmad Shah, who was posted as Patwari Halqa at Hathbura, Ganderbal that he was demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000.
As part of the investigation, the personnel of the anti-corruption branch of CBI Srinagar constituted a trap team which caught the accused patwari red-handed accepting the bribe of Rs 50,000 in presence of independent witnesses, the official said.
He said the ACB registered a formal case in this regard and arrested the accused patwari who was taken into custody.
