Ganderbal, June 05: The Labour Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, Charandeep Singh, reviewed the registration process for service providers involved in the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024 at a special mega camp organized by the Labour Department in Sonmarg. The service providers include Ponywalas, Palkiwalas, and Dandiwalas.
Assistant Labour Commissioner of Ganderbal and other Labour Department officials were also present at the event.
Charandeep Singh announced that all service providers for the Yatra would be registered by June 15th, with comprehensive arrangements in place to facilitate their registration. “In this mega camp, we have pony, palanquin, and dandi providers. Their details have been collected from the shrine board portal, and we are now completing their registration process. So far, approximately 14,000 service providers have registered for SANJY-2024, and we aim to finish this process by June 15th,” he stated.
He added that pony providers must register their ponies with the Animal Husbandry Department after mandatory health checks. To enhance convenience, RFID cards will be issued to registered service providers. Unlike previous years, these cards will be distributed to their respective districts, allowing easy collection without delays. Special camps for RFID card issuance will also be organized to ensure service providers are ready before the Yatra begins.
The Labour Commissioner commended the service providers’ dedication in assisting pilgrims with their religious duties and instructed Labour Department officials to provide all necessary support to ensure a smooth and successful Yatra. He emphasized the importance of providing all requisite facilities to pilgrims during their journey.
