Srinagar, May 27: The Government College of Education (GCoE) organised a Teaching Learning Material (TLM) exhibition and book release function during a pre-internship workshop on Monday.
The programme, organised by the internship committee of the college, aimed to familiarise participants with various aspects of institutional internship during pre-practice sessions.
Seema Naz, Principal IASE, welcomed the participants and provided an overview of internship programs in the institution. Later in the day, a book unveiling function took place during the workshop, attended by dignitaries from the School Education Department. Dr Tasaduq Hussain, Director School Education Kashmir, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Other distinguished guests included CEO Srinagar, Cluster Head Soura, Assistant Director Academics from JKBOSE, ZEO Gulab Bagh, and officials from the School education department. The ECCE book ‘Joyful Foundation’, authored by Prof. Showkat Rashid, Urfana Amin, and Ruuhi Sultana, was unveiled to thunderous applause in the auditorium. Additionally, storybooks by ECCE students were showcased, demonstrating how verbal stories can be transformed into illustrated narratives for children.
In his address, the Director of School Education highlighted the challenges faced by teachers in the present time. Earlier, Coordinator Internships, Fazl illahi, discussed key areas for interns to focus on during their internship. Dr Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Coordinator ECCE, emphasized the importance of the ECCE program in the post NEP-2020 era.
During the event, the Director of School Education and his team visited the exhibition hall, where frugal TLM exhibits in mathematics developed by students were displayed. Additionally, they surveyed the ECCE lab, examining portfolios developed by students under the guidance of Prof Showkeen and Prof Younis Basit.
The workshop, which will continue for three days, includes training sessions conducted by RPs from the School Education Department covering various thematic areas.
