The heart of Srinagar is buzzing with excitement as the crew of the much-anticipated movie “Singham Again” is shooting a scene at the iconic Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk. This marks a significant moment as it is the first major film shoot in the valley since the abrogation of Article 370 four years ago. The return of film crews to Jammu and Kashmir highlights the region’s growing stability and its attractiveness as a shooting location.

In the past four years, Jammu and Kashmir have seen more than 300 films being shot, underscoring a renaissance of the local film industry. This resurgence is supported by the recently launched Film Policy 2024, which builds on the JK Film Policy 2021. The new policy simplifies the shooting process, providing filmmakers with more incentives and streamlined procedures.

The local government’s initiatives have not only revitalized the film industry but have also played a crucial role in restoring peace to the valley. The opening of cinema halls after a long hiatus further signifies this positive change. As Bollywood returns to Jammu and Kashmir, the region is poised to become a premier destination for filmmakers from around the world.

The ongoing shoot of “Singham Again” at Lal Chowk is not just a cinematic event; it represents a new era of cultural and economic development for Jammu and Kashmir. The enthusiasm surrounding the shoot reflects the optimism of the local population and their hopes for a brighter, more vibrant future.
