Govt Polytechnic Jammu organizes technical visit for students to Gladni Grid Station

Jammu, May 20: Government Polytechnic College Jammu on Monday organized a Technical Visit for the Students of 6th Semester Electrical Engineering to Gladni Grid Station.
The visit was flagged off by the Principal Er. Arun Bangotra in presence of Er Raj Kumar HoD Mechanical Engineering Department, Er. Tahir Wani HoD Architecture Department, Er. Devika Bhardwaj, Er. HimanshuBakshi, Er. Itikasharma, Er. Vicky Sharma, Rakesh.
During the Visit, the students were informed that the capacity of the Grid station is 710 MVA. They were also acquainted with different Electrical equipment installed and used in the grid station for Transmission and Protection. The students explored the grid station and its working under the guidance of Er. Sumeet Gupta AEE, JKPTCL, TLMD-II and Er. Bandana Manhas AE, JKPTCL, TLMD-II Gladni grid Jammu.
Students were also acquainted with Working Principle and applications of each appliance and the steering of electrical Power received at 220 KV Voltage with the help of step down Transformer at various stages and further distribution to consumers with the help of Sub Transmission System.
Er. Bandana Manhas also explained SCADA (Supervisory control and Acquisition Data) and Control & Relay Panel.
Er. Vicky Sharma faculty Electrical Engineering Department was Present with Students during the Technical Visit.
