Samba, May 20: Raman Bhalla, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President who contested from the Jammu-Reasi Parliamentary seat, on Monday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has lost ground and in several states, the party’s seats are declining.
“In the entire country, the situation is turning against them. Nowhere there is an increase in their seats,” Bhalla said during his visit to various places of district Samba.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla exhorted the public to “throw the BJP-led alliance from power”.
“History is witness, whenever there has been a revolution in the country, it has started from the brave land of J&K. The campaign to end the dictatorship from this country should begin from J&K,” he said, adding that he was sure of a clean sweep in J&K and ultimate victory of the INDIA bloc.
Referring to the BJP manifesto, the Congress leader said, “All of Modi’s ‘guarantees’ are fake. Earlier, a guarantee was given by them that Rs 15 lakh will be deposited in every person’s account, also of giving two crore jobs every year but they never came good on those guarantees,” he said and asked the public to repose their faith in Congress’s Guarantee.”
Bhalla criticised J&K government for “increasing poverty, unemployment and debt”. He questioned the government’s performance and impact on the public, demanding accountability and justifications for the state’s issues. He condemned the use of religion in politics and emphasised the importance of traditions.
The JKPCC leader lashed out at the BJP for the “sufferings” of the people. He said, “Jammu region suffered the most under ten years of BJP regime. Dogras lost their identify & rights to land, jobs, trade and resources which are being taken over by outside people leaving locals high & dry.”
Bhalla asked people to vote out the BJP from the Centre. “Vote for change and uproot the dictatorial regime of BJP,” he urged. “The people have made up their mind to bring about change at the Centre and Modi government will go after elections and INDIA block will form the government.”
He said if Congress comes to power, the salary of Anganwari and Asha Workers will be doubled. “The educated youth and poor women will get one lakh per year,” he said, adding, “The UPA government had launched various policies and welfare programmes for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden sections of the society and strengthened the nation by establishing peace, progress and prosperity as a result India emerged as a strong nation.”
