Ganderbal, Dec 07: PDP chief and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday addressed a party workers’ convention in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The convention in Shallabugh served as a platform for meaningful discussions on critical regional issues.
On the occasion, Mufti reiterated the People’s Democratic Party’s “unwavering commitment” to “People over Power”, which she said is inspired by the principles laid down by the party founder and her father, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
Reflecting on Mufti Sayeed’s philosophy, she emphasised prioritising people’s interests over power, citing strategic alliances that aimed to bring “peace with dignity” to “conflict-ravaged lives” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Despite challenges and compromises, PDP adhered to these guiding principles since 2018 and resolutely voiced the sentiments and aspirations of the people, she said.
Organization Secretary Dr Mehboob Beg and other leaders including Waheed ur Rehman Parra, Bashir Ahmad Mir and District President Zahoor Ahmad Rather, were also present at the event.
