Srinagar, Apr 21: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, dressed in military attire was spotted filming his latest movie “Ground Zero” in the historic town of Baramulla in Kashmir on Sunday.
Accompanied by J&K police, army personnel, and his film crew, Hashmi made his way through an enthusiastic crowd, eager to capture selfies with the star.
Hashmi’s visit to the valley for the film’s shooting has garnered attention, with fans excited to see him in action. The beautiful backdrop of Baramulla adds to the charm of the film, continuing Kashmir’s legacy as a favored filming location for Bollywood, from classics like “Kashmir Ki Kali” to recent hits like “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.”
Beyond the glitz and glamour, Hashmi’s presence in Old Baramulla holds significance as it used to be hotspots for militants and stone-pelters.
According to a local artist who is part of the crew said that the film’s production has provided opportunities for over 200 Kashmiri youths, including those who were previously involved in anti-national activities.”
He said, “This employment opportunity is not only welcomed by the community but also signifies a positive step towards reconciliation and development.”
One elderly participant in the film expressed his desire for peace to prevail in Kashmir, echoing the sentiments of many who long for stability and prosperity in the region.
In the recent past, many films have been shot in the Kashmir valley, and this was the first movie to be shot in the old town of Baramulla. As soon as the Bollywood actor entered the town on Sunday, hundreds of his fans gathered at the scene.
