Kargil, Apr 18: In anticipation of the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary Elections in Ladakh, Akashwani Kargil has rolled out a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate and engage the local populace.
The initiative encompasses a range of activities, including expert interviews, coverage of SVEEP events (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation), and active engagement on social media platforms like Twitter. These efforts aim to empower citizens with the knowledge and motivation to actively participate in the democratic process.
A highlight of the campaign is an exclusive interview conducted by Programme Head Subhash Khanna with the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Suse. Mr. Suse emphasized the meticulous preparations being made in Kargil for the upcoming elections, with a particular focus on educating and facilitating first-time voters. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral environment.
Subhash Khanna, Programme Head at Akashwani Kargil, affirmed the radio station’s dedication to amplifying the administration’s initiatives and promoting high voter turnout. Akashwani Kargil pledges to provide extensive coverage of the electoral process, enabling voters to make informed decisions.
With its voter awareness campaign, Akashwani Kargil aims to serve as a catalyst for democratic participation and civic engagement. The radio station seeks to empower citizens, uphold democratic values, and contribute to the success of the electoral process in Ladakh.
The exclusive interview with Shrikant Suse will air on the “Yeh Kargil Hai” programme on April 17, 2023, at 7:45 pm. Additionally, it will be available on the official YouTube channel and will be rebroadcasted on the “Kargil Namah” programme.
