Police solves theft cases of Masjid Sharief Pattan & SBI branch Pattan; accused arrested

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday have solved theft cases of Masjid Sharief and SBI branch Pattan by arresting accused   and recovered stolen property  in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A Police spokesperson said, “On 04-04-2024 Police Station Pattan received a written application from President  Masjid Baitul Huda  Pattan  Ab Majeed Sada stating therein that donation box (safe) of the Masjid  has been looted by some theives.”

” The theives have also striked at the nearby ziyarat and have also looted the donation box there. Theives have also stolen one jacket and mobile phone from the Masjid Sharief. Subsequently Police Station Pattan also received information on the next day that  thieves have striked at State Bank of India at pattan market and have  stolen one Samsung tab from there”, he said.

“In this regard case FIR 97/2024 & 102/2024 u/s 457, 380 IPC  was registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation was started”, he said.

The spokesperson said, “During the investigations of both cases, it was found there was only a single accused involved. After strenuous efforts by Baramullla Police accused namely Nasir Ahmad Najar son of Ab Rashid resident of Najar Mohalla Pattan was traced at TRC Srinagar and was arrested for the offences committed.”

” During interrogation, the alleged accused confessed to crime and led to the place where he has concealed the stolen property, leading to the recovery of stolen property. Further investigation of the case is going on”, he said.
