Model Code of Conduct implemented for general elections to Lok Sabha 2024 in Kargil

Kargil, Apr 04: In response to the announcement of the General Election to Lok Sabha 2024 by the Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct has been enforced in Kargil. All regular, contractual, adhoc employees, and officials working in various government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, and PSUs within the district are urged to adhere strictly to the following instructions:
According to an order a copy of which lies with Rising Kashmir In view of announcement of General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024 by Election Commission of india and the imposition of Model Code of Conduct, all the regular/contractual/adhoc employees/ officials working in various Govt/Semi-govt/Autonomous institutions/PSUs etc of the district are impressed upon to strictly abide by the following instructions-They shall not take part in, subscribe in aid of, or assist in any way, any political party and refrain from participation in political activities as per Rules 2 Clause (1) of Central Civil Service (Conduct) Rules, 1964.
During the election period, they shall not accompany any public representative
candidates, political workers/political agents during their visits, tours, rallies, andmeetings.They shall desist from creating any public nuisance and violation of Model Code of Conduct in all respects.
They shall bring any violation of the Model Code of Conduct immediately
in the notice of District Election Offcer, Kargil as well as Nodal Officer-MCC
Any violation by the employees in respect of Model Code of Conduct and the circular
instructions conveyed herein will be viewed seriously and strict action under rules shall be laken against the violators.
