Text books will be distributed across Kashmir within few days: DSEK

Pulwama, April 02: The Director School Education Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain Mir, on Tuesday asserted that text will be distributed across all districts of Kashmir within a couple of days.
The Director School Education was talking to the media here in Sangerwani village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after kick-starting this year’s enrollment drive for students in government schools.
He said that they have framed a schedule for distribution of the text books for students of government schools across the division.
He informed that textbooks have already been distributed in five districts of the division.
“A schedule has been framed and books are distributed to various zones as per the schedule,” he said, adding that titles for 3 to 4 subjects are unavailable in the market.
He assured that these titles will be made available for government schools and in the market by April 5,2024.
He said that examinations for class 8th are currently going on which will be completed soon.
He said that a new classification has been started and within three days books will be distributed to government schools in all districts of Kashmir division.
He added that the few titles which are pending are in the transportation phase after printing and will be available by April 5.
On this occasion the Director School Education Kashmir reiterated that it is mandatory for the private schools to teach JKBOSE prescribed text books.
He added that a circular has already been issued in this regard.
The Director School Education Kashmir clarified that teaching additional material by a parent or a teacher is not discouraged but stressed that teaching JKBOSE prescribed text books has been made mandatory in private schools.
