Srinagar, Sep 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department is mulling to start “structured career counseling and placement cells” for the benefit of the students.
Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Rohit Kansal has said, “Structured career counseling and placement cells shall be activated in all colleges.”
It also said that a minimum of four counseling or placement sessions would be held in each college annually for the advice and guidance of the students. “The premier college of the district will act as hub and mentor for all other colleges in a district.”
The official communiqué of the department further states that “Sessions can be introduced jointly by colleges with larger colleges acting as mentors and hubs.”
About the training and supervision of the students, Kansal has said, “There would be coaching and guidance for higher entrance tests and admissions to foreign universities and guidance for civil services would also be provided.”
He said that the ‘soft skill coaching’ would also be initiated for the enrolled students.
Pertinent to mention that Rising Kashmir had reported that the department has devised a three step feedback process at students’, faculty and college levels in order to create a culture of excellence within the higher education ecosystem.
