50 vehicles booked for violation of Traffic rules in last 6 days on Jammu- Srinagar Highway

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Massarat Islam along with a team from the Motor Vehicle Department today conducted checking of the vehicles on the Jammu- Srinagar National Highway.

 

The team checked the vehicles for overloading, over speeding, and violation of extant traffic rules.

 

During Naka checking near Seri, the DC advised the passengers to check the condition of the vehicle and other necessary documents before starting their journey.

 

The DC informed that the MVD has intensified the vehicle checking on NH-44 besides sensitizing the people, especially drivers and conductors about the traffic rules as well as road safety measures to avoid untoward incidents that claim precious lives.

 

The DC said that MVD, Traffic Police, and District Police Ramban will also intensify the checking drives in view of previous accidents on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway due to negligent driving.

 

Meanwhile, ARTO Saminder informed that Motor Vehicle Department Ramban checked nearly 170 vehicles and challaned 50 for different violations under MVD Act in the last 6 days. Our team also sensitized the drivers and transporters about the traffic rules, penalties, and required documents which they should keep with them, he added.
