Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Bandipora have booked 03 chronic & notorious drug peddlers under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
A Police spokesman said that the three drug peddlers have been booked under preventive detention after obtaining sanctions from the competent authorities. The booked drug peddlers include Khursheed Ahmad Waza @Mandiala son of Gh Mohmmad Waza resident of Bandipora, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat @Yatri son of Mohmad Sultan Bhat and Zakir Hussain Chechi son of Late Abdullaha Chechi, both residents of Bazipora Ajas Sumbal.
The trio has been lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhilwal. The drug mafia of which trio was active members were hell bent to spoil the life and career of young generation by selling drugs to them.
Pertinently, trio was repeated offenders and many cases were already registered against them in different police stations. Moreover, their detention under the PIT will act as a deterrent for drug mafia also.
