Budgam, Nov 03: The police said on Saturday that they had arrested a man for murdering his wife at Nasrullahpora village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The deceased lady (35 years of age) belonged to Kolkata and had married the accused just 20 days ago.
A police official said that on Friday, December 2, the police station in Budgam received information that Muslima Wife of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, son of Saif ud Din Bhat, a resident of Nasrullapora Budgam, had died.
“After receiving this information, the police party from the Budgam Police rushed immediately to the house where the lady had died and found the death to be suspicious. “Accordingly, senior police officers also rushed to the spot to examine the scene of the crime,” an official said.
He said that during the investigation and upon examination of the dead body, visible ligature marks on the neck of the deceased lady were found, and subsequently, the dead body was taken into possession by the police for legal formalities.
