Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said to have solved a theft case within hours by arresting two accused and recovered stolen jewellery and cash from their possession in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
A Police spokesperson said, On Sunday at 1810 hours, Police Station Ganderbal received information through reliable sources that some unknown thieves had entered the residential house of Gh Mohd Sofi S/O Noor-Din Sofi R/O Patipora Saloora and taken away some jewellery & Cash.
“In this regard, Case FIR No.18/2024 under relevant sections registered and further investigation was set into motion.”
“Acting Swiftly on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta-IPS, a Special Police team was constituted under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqr’s Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS lead by SHO PS Ganderbal Inspector Manzoor Ahmad. After strenuous efforts, the Police Party with the help of technical inputs & CCTV footage apprehended two persons. The accused persons were identified as; Imran Ismail Bhat S/O Mohammad Ismail Bhat & Umar Shafi Gilkar, both residents of Tailbal Hazratbal”, he said.
He said, “During preliminary investigation, the duo accused confessed to the crime & upon their disclosure, Stolen Jewellery; one Golden Ring, a pair of Golden Ear Rings, a Golden Badge & Cash Rs/-13000. (Rupees Thirteen thousand only) have been recovered & both the accused have been put behind bars. The Amaze Car Bearing Regd. No.JK01AT-1953 used in the commission of the crime was also seized.”
