11 persons held for Illegal extraction& transportation of minerals in South Kashmir

Continuing its drive and acting tough against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Awantipora Police arrested 11 persons & seized 11 vehicles.

 

A Spokesperson said that Police party from Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew Inspector Manzoor Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Pampore have arrested 08 persons and seized eight vehicles (02 JCBs,05 tipper & 01 loader ) involved in illegal extraction of minerals at Wuyan .

 

“Similarly Police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Mohammad Younis Khan under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora seized three vehicles (tippers ) involved in illegal extraction of sand at Hatiwara and Aghanjipora”, he said.

 

Accordingly, case vide FIR NO. 24,26/2023 of PS Khrew and 53/2023 of PS Awantipora under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.
