Three avalanches hit gurez villages, no damage reported

At least three avalanches on Friday hit the upper reaches of Wazirithal, Gujran and Neery villages of Tulail Tehsil of gurez valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

 

An official told Rising Kashmir that the slide impacted the upper reaches of the villages of Wazirithal, Gujran and Neery villages however no fatalities or damage was reported for in the occurrences.

 

He said that they are closely monitoring the activities in the avalanche prone areas of the district. 

 

He said that an advisory was already issued to locals of gurez valley not to venture out unnecessarily. 

 

Notably, around ten avalanches have struck gurez valley since the month of january however not even a single case of any damage or loss of life was reported in any occurrence.
