Srinagar, June 03: Govt. Medical College Srinagar has ordered disengagement of 93 paramedical staff engaged on academic arrangement basis having completed six years of term in the medical college.
The appointments of paramedical employees like junior grade nurses, anaesthesia assistants, ECG assistants, junior pharmacists, theatre assistants, x-ray assistants were made on temporary basis for six years under SRO-384 without any regularization policy.
On Thursday GMC Srinagar issued an order which states that 93 paramedical staffers who have completed 6 years term on an academic arrangement basis and do not have any interim relief or direction from any court of law for their continuation are hereby disengaged with immediate effect.
“In view of the selection being recommended by J&K Services Selection Board for various categories of paramedical posts and subsequently approved/forwarded by the Administrative Department, the matter was examined in this office and it was observed that there is no justification in continuing with those incumbents on academic arrangement basis, who have completed maximum permissible extended term up to six years and basis and do not have any interim relief or direction from any court of law,” the order said.
“After due deliberations, it was decided to immediately disengage 93 paramedical employees who have completed maximum permissible extended term up to six years have completed on academic arrangement basis,” the order said.
On the other side, the employees of the medical college engaged on the same SRO and have completed more than six years have already moved to the Supreme Court and the hearing of that case is scheduled next month.
