Budgam, July 14: In a significant step towards improving healthcare facilities for the general public, authorities in Budgam district inaugurated the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in Mazhama village, Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, on Friday.
The new facility, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Budgam, is expected to address the long-standing issue of inadequate space and provide enhanced healthcare services to the local population.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Budgam, Dr. Ayoub Fateh Khan, highlighted the dire condition of the previously functional health centre, which was housed in a dilapidated building. The limited space hampered the provision of quality healthcare to patients. However, the newly constructed two-story building of the health centre boasts modern amenities and ample space to cater to the medical needs of the community.
Dr. Khan further stated that, under the supervision of the deputy commissioner, additional health centres in the district would soon be made operational. This development is expected to provide further relief to the patients and meet the healthcare requirements of more than 4,000 individuals residing in various villages within the district.
Emphasizing the significance of the new health centre, Dr. Khan urged locals to take full advantage of the facility, emphasizing that it had been established with their welfare in mind. He encouraged community members to visit the health centre for any medical-related issues and assured them that the dedicated health department staff would provide treatment on a daily basis.
