Srinagar, Feb 19: Dry Land Agriculture Research Station, SKUAST-K organized Awareness Programme for Tribal farmers of District Srinagar under AICRP TSP-Maize on Improved Technologies for Higher Maize Production sponsored by Indian Institute of Maize Research, Ludhiana in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Kashmir at Faqir Gujri.
The programme was attended by more than 40 tribal farmers along with scientists & field staff of DARS, Rangreth and officers from Agriculture Department.
The event was started with formal welcome by Dr. Aamir H. Mir, Scientist (Soil Science). Dr. Faisul ur Rasool, incharge TSP-Maize emphasized upon the use of improved technologies for increasing crop productivity and consequently livelihood of tribal farmers. He also stressed the use of scientific package of practices in order to achieve desired output. Maize seed along with farm implements were distributed among the farmers during the event. Agriculture Extension Officer, Harwan concluded the programme by presenting the formal vote of thanks.
