Rafiabad, May 23: The Forest Department of Langate Range organized an awareness programme in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla district on Wednesday.
The programme, conducted under the theme of “Mission Life for the Environment,” took place at Changri area of Chatoosa village.
During the event, several conifer plants were planted by the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Chatoosa, staff from the concerned forest block, and school students.
The programme was attended by the Principal of HSS Chatoosa Rafiabad, Miss Parveen Akther, as well as Mansoor Raheem Ganie (BO), Mansoor Ahmad Mir (BO), and other officials from the concerned department. To make the event enjoyable, various activities such as tug of war, tree identification, walking and talking, and kabaddi were also organized.
Parveen Akther, Principal of HSS Chatoosa, stated, “The purpose of this initiative is to increase the green cover and restore the glory of our environment. These drives aim to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of forests for our well-being.”
Mansoor Ahmad Mir (BO Kiterdaji), speaking on the occasion, emphasized the important role that forests play in maintaining ecological balance. He urged everyone to contribute to their preservation and conservation.
The forest officers expressed their gratitude to the staff, students, and members of the media for their contributions in making the programme a success.
