Leh, Mar 19: A few days ago, an article by Rising Kashmir brought attention to the frequent breakdowns of the CT scan machine and the non-availability of an MRI machine at the District Hospital Kargil, causing inconvenience to patients across the district.
Taking notice of the same, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh tweeted and directed the health department to repair the damaged CT scan machine and add an MRI machine facility to provide convenience to the people.
Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra also raised concerns about the non-functional CT-Scan machine at the District Hospital Kargil, and was briefed on the current progress towards solving the issue by the office of the LG Ladakh. He emphasized that such delays in repairing and maintaining crucial medical equipment should not be repeated.
As a result, the procurement of a new CT-Scan machine is being expedited, and the health department has been directed to add an MRI machine at Kargil to prevent further inconvenience to patients.
