DC presides over Block Diwas at Kulgam

Kulgam, May 24: Continuing the initiatives of special public outreach programme of LG Administration across the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat on Wednesday held Mega Block Diwas at Kulgam and listened to various public issues and demands.
On the occasion, the PRI delegations from various panchayats, individuals and prominent stakeholders from Gundipora Chowgam, Lammer, Daderkoot Nowpora, Harvet, Chimmer, Watoo Asnoor, Nigeenpora, Vesbatpora, Hallan, Manzgam, Adijan, Wanpora Qaimoh, Bugam, Chattabal, Kund Batengoo, Aahtoo, Yaroo apprised the chair about the problems they face in their daily lives.
The primary issues pertained to the drinking water, electricity, revenue, land compensation, road connectivity/widening, PMAY and other matters of vital public significance.
The DC gave patient hearing to all the grievances and redressed the majority of the issues on spot and also directed the officers for prompt redressal of the grievances.
Dr Bilal assured them that the major issues of public importance would be brought to the notice of higher authorities for early redressal. 
The District officers also responded to the public demands pertaining to their departments. The DC emphasized upon the officers to work diligently and redress the public grievances on top priority. 
The DC further added that administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution.
Earlier, ACD Mohammad Imran Khan briefed about the action taken on the issue and demands raised by people during previous Block Diwas.
ADC Kulgam, Viqar Ahamd Giri, ACD, HQA to Deputy Commissioner, General Manager DIC Kulgam, CEO, CMO, DSWO, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kulgam, Executive Engineer PW(R&B) Kulgam, Chief Animal Husbandry officer Kulgam, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kulgam, and other officers were present on the occasion.
Similarly, Grievances redressal camps were also held at Block office Manzgam and Devsar, where concerned sectoral officers remained available to listen to the public.
