Samba, July 04: The much-anticipated District Samba Softball Championship 2023-24 is all set to commence on Wednesday, taking place at Government Higher Secondary School in Birpur, Samba.
Organized under the banner of the My Youth My Pride initiative by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, the championship is being spearheaded by the District Samba Softball Association. This event is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of the J&K Sports Council and enjoys the full support and recognition of the J&K Softball Association.
The championship will feature teams from various age groups, including Sub Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls), and Senior (Men & Women). With fierce competition expected, the players will showcase their skills and determination on the softball field, vying for victory and glory.
Notably, the winning teams from this championship will earn the opportunity to represent their district in the forthcoming J&K UT Softball Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Srinagar during the last week of August. This chance to compete at the higher level will surely motivate the teams to give their best performances during the District Samba Softball Championship.
To ensure the smooth running and fair play of the tournament, the championship will be meticulously supervised by Padam Dev Singh, Sudhir Singh, and Dheeraj Singh Jamwal. These experienced individuals bring their expertise and passion for the sport, ensuring a well-organized and enjoyable event for both players and spectators.
The Hony. General Secretary of the J&K Softball Association expressed his anticipation for the championship, stating, “We are thrilled to witness the talent and enthusiasm of the softball players in District Samba. This championship showcases their dedication and love for the sport, and we are proud to support them on their journey towards excellence.”
