GDC Baramulla hosts workshop on prototype-process design, development to foster innovation

Baramulla, May 29: Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) Centre, Government Degree College (GDC) Baramulla on Monday hosted a virtual workshop on “Prototype/Process Design and Development,” led by esteemed speaker Dr. Sheikh Fayaz from Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS) in China. The workshop aimed to foster a spirit of innovation and provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of design and development’s role in driving progress.
Under the formal inauguration by Principal Prof. Mohammad Farooq Rather, the workshop captivated attendees and left a lasting impression.
Prof. Rather expressed his gratitude for Dr. Fayaz’s presence, emphasizing the significance of such workshops in nurturing innovation among students and faculty members. He urged participants to embrace innovation as a catalyst for advancement and encouraged them to seize the opportunity.
Dr. Sheikh Fayaz commenced the workshop by discussing the transformative potential of innovation and its fundamentals. He shared compelling examples of local innovations that have contributed to their nations’ development, showcasing how innovative solutions effectively address pressing social and economic challenges.
These success stories inspired the audience, empowering them to recognize the power of their own ideas and initiatives.
During his presentation, Dr. Fayaz emphasized the importance of collaboration and linkages in tackling local issues in the Kashmir region. He stressed the involvement of universities, non-university spaces, government bodies, industry representatives, and local communities in the innovation process.
Dr. Fayaz Ahmad proposed an open and inclusive culture, keeping universities and non-university spaces accessible, and engaging all stakeholders to maximize the potential for innovative solutions.
The workshop concluded with heartfelt gratitude expressed by Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, representing GDC Baramulla. Prof. Chalkoo thanked Dr. Sheikh Fayaz for his insightful and thought-provoking workshop, which shed light on the principles and practices of innovation and design.
The virtual workshop on Prototype/Process Design and Development conducted by Dr. Sheikh Fayaz was hailed as a resounding success, enlightening participants about the transformative power of innovation and the significance of collaboration.
