H&ME orders adoption of rotational headship in GMCs, dental colleges

Srinagar, June 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has ordered adoption of rotational headship in various departments of Government Medical Colleges and Government Dental Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir.
“Sanction is, hereby, accorded to the adoption of procedures for becoming the Head of Department (HoD) of any department in Government Medical Colleges and Government Dental Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir,” the H&ME Department said in an order.
It said that in department (s) with one Professor, the Professor shall continue to be HoD of that department. “In department(s) with multiple Professors, the post of HoD will be rotated amongst the Professors in every two years as per seniority,” the order said.
