Jammu, May 30: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for initiating the ‘Maha Jan Samparak Abhiyan’ to celebrate the nine years of the Modi government at the Centre.
In a statement issued here, Gupta said, “The people across the nation know very well that the BJP Government at the Centre has proved to be an utter failure on all fronts and they will never forgive the saffron party for bringing and following anti-people policies. In such a situation, it is not proper for the BJP leaders to celebrate their nine years of misgovernance and that too under the theme ‘Nau Saal Bemisaal’. The reality is that instead of bringing the Achhe Din promised by the BJP, it has brought only miseries to the common people of the nation.”
Questioning the government and the BJP, Gupta said the nation and its people want to know when will the promised Achhe Din come.
The senior NC leader said that Jammu and Kashmir has been the “worst victim” of the BJP’s “misrule”. “There is an acute shortage of drinking water in the Kandi belt of Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts, with people not getting water for 4 to 6 days in a week. This in itself speaks of the so-called tall claims about 9 years of governance of Modi government made by the BJP leaders,” he said.
On Nari Shakti, Lal said, “During nine years, the price of LPG on which Nari’s kitchen is dependant has rocketed from nearly Rs 400 to Rs 1200. On the employment front, the progress during these nine years is that unemployment has broken all previous records with J&K leading in the chart. Modi government failed to create 2 crore jobs per year in nine years despite making tall promises about the same. Today the youth can clearly see that they have no future in J&K as the recruitment scams are taking a heavy toll.”
“To conclude, it can be asserted without any doubt that the BJP government during its 9 years of misgovernance promoted only hatred among the people by playing divisive politics, weakening secular fabric and brotherhood,” the senior NC leader added.
