Bandipora, July 09: The Nasoou-Mini secretariat road in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, which was severely damaged by heavy rainfall three months ago near Dar-ul-uloom Raheemiyyah, remains in a state of disrepair, causing immense hardships for commuters and residents.

As per the details available with Rising Kashmir, despite falling under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council, no significant action has been taken by the administration, leaving the local community in distress.

According to the locals, the closure of the Nasoou-Mini secretariat stretch has disrupted their daily lives. They now have to endure longer distances and spend more on fuel to reach their destinations, as this vital road remains non-functional.

Mohd Hussain, a local while expressing concern said that the closure of this road has imposed unnecessary burdens on them. The diversion of traffic through the main town has resulted in massive congestion and chaos, he said.

The residents of Bandipora have now urged the administration to prioritize the repair and swift restoration of this crucial stretch.

Lateef Ahmad, another local said that the prolonged inconvenience and suffering of the residents cannot be ignored any longer. “We implore the authorities to take immediate action”, he added.

Responding to the public concerns, an official while acknowledging the inconvenience caused assured that the restoration work is their top priority. “The administration is committed to address the situation promptly”, he added.
