Budgam, Aug 18: Police on Friday said they arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession in this central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official told Rising Kashmir that police station Magam arrested four drug peddlers identified as Zahid Majeed Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat; Irfan Ahmad War, son of Abdul Ahad War; both residents of Peth-Kanihama village; and Tariq Ahmad Parray, son of Ghulam Mohammad Parray, a resident of Warihama; and Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rahman Dar, a resident of Badran Magam.
He said 40 bottles of codeine phosphate and a cash amount of Rs 13,100 were recovered from their possession.
“In this case, FIR No. 129/2023, under relevant sections of the law stands registered at Police Station Magam,” the official said, adding that more recoveries and arrests are expected in this case.
