Srinagar, June 07: The Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian President Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al Safavi has “vociferously” condemned the alleged blasphemous remarks by a student from Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar.
In a statement, Aga expressed deep concern over the incident, saying it is a disturbing trend where such actions seem to have become a fashion aimed at hurting the sentiments of Muslims.
“This is not an isolated incident but part of a growing pattern that seeks to undermine and provoke the Muslim community,” he said. “Such actions are not only disrespectful but also deeply hurtful, and they have no place in a civilised society.”
Hassan emphasised the critical role that educational institutions play in shaping the future of students. “Students are our future, and they should be infused with morality at colleges of every domain. It is crucial that educational institutions foster an environment of respect and understanding among all communities,” he said.
In light of the incident, the Shia leader called for necessary and strict action to be taken against those responsible for making blasphemous remarks. “Educational institutions must take a firm stand against such behaviour. There should be no tolerance for actions that incite hatred and disrespect towards any religion,” he asserted.
He urged educational authorities and government bodies to implement policies that ensure respect for all religions and beliefs within academic environments. He also appealed to students and faculty members to uphold the values of tolerance and mutual respect.
“The responsibility lies not only with the administration but also with each individual to create a respectful and inclusive atmosphere. We must all work together to promote harmony and understanding in our society,” Hassan concluded.
