Srinagar, Oct 05: The 29th Junior National Thang-Ta Championship reached a thrilling conclusion on Thursday at the Multipurpose Indoor Hall in Polo Ground, Srinagar. Organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Thang-Ta Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council under the auspices of the Thang-Ta Federation of India, this prestigious event brought together young martial artists from across the nation to showcase their exceptional skills and determination.
The concluding ceremony was graced by Chief Guest, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar (IPS), Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, who held the position of Guest of Honour. The event also witnessed the presence of influential figures such as H. Prem Kumar Singh, Grand Master of the World Thang-Ta Federation, Sheikh Riyaz Ahmad, Administrative Officer of the J&K Sports Council, Maqsood Khan, Manager of the Indoor Hall at Polo Ground, Mushtaq Zargar, Manager of Bakshi Stadium, and Mr. Vinod Sharma, Secretary of the Thang-Ta Federation of India, further emphasizing its significance.
During the ceremony, Bhatnagar commended the J&K Sports Council for hosting this remarkable championship, acknowledging its potential in nurturing future martial arts excellence in the region. He also took the opportunity to congratulate the organizing committee of the J&K Thang-Ta Association for the flawless execution of the championship.
In the highly competitive arena, Team Haryana emerged as the overall champions of the 29th Junior National Thang-Ta Championship. Manipur secured the coveted position of 1st runner-up, while the host state, Jammu and Kashmir, proudly claimed the 3rd place in this prestigious martial arts competition.
