Lt Gen Ghai visits south Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 05: Commending the security forces on the success of Kujjar operation in Kulgam, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Commander of the Chinar Corps (15 Corps), lauded the dedication of forces in fighting terror. 
Gen Ghai visited the Rashtriya Rifles troops deployed in the counter-terrorism grid in South Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.
Army officer said that during his visit, he interacted with the Rashtriya Rifles troops and lauded the troops for their meticulous planning and the successful execution of Operation Kujjar in Kulgam on October 4. During this operation, two terrorists were neutralised, and a cache of war-like materials was recovered.
Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai was joined by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Victor Force, along with other high-ranking officials including the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South Kashmir and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kulgam.
This visit underscores the dedication and commitment of the Chinar Corps in maintaining peace and security in the region and dealing effectively with terrorist threats.
Pertinent to mention here, On Wednesday, two terrorists were killed in an operation in general area Kujjar, Kulgam. The area was cordoned & search conducted, resulting in a fire fight. Two terrorists were eliminated along with recovery of two AK Rifles & other war-like stores.
Both terrorists linked with proscribed terrorist outfit HM were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. They have been identified as Basit Amin Bhat of Frisal & Saqib Ahmad Lone of Hawoora, Kulgam.
On October 03, Chinar Corps Cdr visited frontline units along the LoC in Machhal, Kupwara and reviewed the Counter Infiltration Grid and Operational Preparedness.
He complimented them for successful conduct of Op Gucchinar at Machhal on 29-30 Sept where two infiltrating terrorists were eliminated and large quantities of war-like stores were recovered.
