Jammu, Aug 07: The Rainawari Kashmiri Pandit Action Committee (RKPAC) marked the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishan Janam Ashtami, also known as Zaram Satam, in a grand traditional celebration held at Shri Shri Chakreshwari Jagat Amba Sanstha (Hari Parbat), Doke, Paloura, Jammu.
The festivities commenced with a soul-stirring rendition of Shri Krishan Bhajans by the young prodigy Vanshika Kaw, followed by an enchanting performance of Shri Krishan Leela by the talented children of ‘Matamal.’ The event saw captivating devotional Shri Krishan Bhajans delivered by RK Saproo and his team.
A profound discourse on the significance of Zaram Satam and its relevance in contemporary times was delivered by Sanjay Raina, a Dharma Scholar. He emphasized that Lord Krishan’s message of reversing exile and genocide for the Pandwas holds equal importance for Kashmiri Pandits.
As a symbol of devotion and tradition, traditional Prasad was distributed among all the devotees in attendance. Mr. BL Jalali, President of RKPAC, seized the opportunity to update the gathering on the current condition of the Gopi Tirath property in Brein, Nishat, Srinagar, which belongs to the Jogeshswari Mandir Trust—a unit of RKPAC. He also highlighted the deteriorating state of Jogeshswari Mandir (Loukut Mandir), Jogi Lanker, Rainawari, Srinagar.
