Kupwara, Oct 21: The echoes of skill, sportsmanship, and dedication reverberated through the Multipurpose Indoor Hall in Handwara as the District Kupwara Thang-Ta Championship 2023-24 concluded with resounding success. Organized by the District Kupwara Thang-Ta Association and proudly sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, this event witnessed more than 150 enthusiastic boys and girls showcasing their talents in the thrilling martial art of Thang-Ta.
From October 20th to 21st, 2023, the Multipurpose Indoor Hall transformed into an arena of grit and determination, as competitors from all corners of District Kupwara displayed their skills and determination. The event provided a platform for young talents to exhibit their prowess in Thang-Ta, a traditional martial art form of India.
This championship was not only a celebration of athleticism but also a testament to the unwavering commitment of the District Kupwara Thang-Ta Association and the invaluable support of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Their joint efforts paved the way for the success of this event, emphasizing the importance of promoting sports and traditional martial arts in the region.
The participants, both boys and girls, exhibited exceptional skill and sportsmanship, making this championship a memorable occasion for all in attendance. The championship consisted of various categories and age groups, creating an inclusive and competitive environment for all participants.
“We are immensely proud of the talent displayed by the young athletes of Kupwara. Their dedication to the traditional art of Thang-Ta is commendable, and this championship was a testament to their hard work,” said Ayjaz Ahmad Bhat, General Secretary J&K Thang-Ta Association.
The event’s success would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Their commitment to promoting sports and encouraging the youth of the region is indeed praiseworthy.
The District Kupwara Thang-Ta Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and spectators who contributed to the success of this championship.
