Jammu, Sept 23: The State Election Commissioner (SEC), B.R. Sharma, embarked on a visit to several blocks to oversee the ongoing process of updating the Panchayat election records on the spot.
During his tour, SEC Sharma visited Block Miran Sahib, Panchayat-Darsopur, Arjun Singh Kotli, Miran Sahib, and Chakroi, Suchetgarh. He personally supervised the ongoing updation of the Panchayat election records and provided instructions to the concerned Rural Development Department (RDD) staff.
One of his key directives was to ensure that all voters whose names were inadvertently omitted during the assembly polls are included in the State Election records with an effective date of January 1, 2023.
Additionally, SEC Sharma emphasized the need to address any discrepancies or corrections required in the voter names and other related information. He instructed the authorities to process corrections submitted by voters using the prescribed proforma.
