Ramban, Sep 24: Chairperson District Development Council Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan on Sunday kick started the construction work on the pump Room (tube well) for Water Supply Scheme at Upper Dalwah Gujjar Gali of subdivision Gool.
PRIs, JE, Pavan Singh, prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.
After formally launching the work on the WSS being constructed at a cost of Rs 8.00 lakh, the Chairperson congratulated the people of the area and appreciated the work of the department.
While interacting with the locals, the DDC Chairperson said that Jal Jeevan Mission is envisioned to provide functional tapped water connections to all the households and steps are being taken by the department to achieve the 100% targets in the district.
The Chairperson also said that the Jal Shakti Department is tirelessly working to provide adequate drinking water supply to the general public.
The concerned officers from the Jal Shakti Department were asked to ensure that the schemes are completed within the set deadlines to provide necessary benefits to the general public.
The chairperson sought cooperation of the PRIs and Locals for smooth execution of the work.
Assistive Devices distributed among Divyangjan, senior citizens in District Samba
Samba, Sep 24: District Administration Samba, in conjunction with Composite Regional Centre Srinagar (CRC) and the Social Welfare Department, organized an Assistive Devices distribution camp in Samba, under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India under the Scheme of Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) & Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY).
In the camp, 201 beneficiaries, whose survey had been conducted by ALIMCO earlier this year, were provided assistive devices and prosthetic aids.
Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Addressing the divyangjan beneficiaries, the MP assured them that efforts would soon be made to lay the foundation stone for the construction of CRC Samba. He expressed his appreciation for the role played by Deputy Commissioner Samba, CRC Srinagar, and the Social Welfare Department in organizing this distribution camp and providing assistive devices to physically challenged individuals at their doorstep.
DC Samba, Abhishek Sharma; SSP Samba, Benam Tosh; ADC Samba, Suresh Chander; and DSWO Samba, Nawaz Sharif were present.
The Member of Parliament also commended the District Administration, MSJ&E Under Secretary, Paras Kumar Singh and Rehabilitation Officer CRC for their efforts in organizing the camp.
