Kangan, Sep 24: In a significant development, the Taxi Driver Association of Kangan has joined hands with Sarkaar Transport to introduce a Sumo service, aimed at enhancing passenger connectivity to and from remote areas. The service, which commenced operations from the Kangan Sumo Stand, offers a wide range of vehicles, including Tempo Traveler, Innova, Scorpio, Swift Desire, and Tavera, to cater to the diverse travel needs of passengers.
Kangan, known for its limited transportation links with outside states, has long grappled with the lack of direct connectivity. However, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Kangan’s Sumo Stand and Sarkaar transport services, travelers can now enjoy Sumo services to destinations such as Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Kargil, and Baltal, Gurez.
Local passengers have expressed their gratitude for this new service, citing its convenience and potential to transform the region’s transportation landscape. Previously, during the winter season, non-state residents and locals alike had to switch vehicles in Srinagar while traveling to and from places like Jammu and Amritsar. With the introduction of the Kangan Sumo service, this inconvenience has been significantly reduced, making travel more comfortable and efficient.
One passenger commended the initiative and extended his appreciation to the officials of the Sumo Stand and government transport services. He also called for the service to remain operational throughout the year, ensuring that passengers and the general public continue to benefit from improved connectivity without any disruptions.
This new Sumo service is poised to have a positive impact on the region by fostering better accessibility and transportation options, particularly during challenging winter months.
