Baramulla, Aug 26: A 59-year-old man identified as Er Gurmeet Singh has been reported missing since Friday afternoon from the Kanth-Bagh area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Gurmeet Singh alias Sethi Veer Ji, originally a resident of Panzala, works as an engineer in R&B Department in Baramulla. His relative told Rising Kashmir that Singh left his present residence Kanth Bagh around 6:30 pm to visit a nearby market.
However, he did not return, sparking concerns among the family members about his safety. “His car was found abandoned between Eco Park and Sheeri by Jhelum side and his mobile phone was in flight mode. The entire family is in chaos and worried about him,” the relative said.
The distraught family while seeking the assistance of the general public to locate Gurmeet said that a missing report has been lodged and a search operation to trace the engineer has been started by police.
“We have reported the matter to the police and they are doing their job. The people from both Sikh and Muslim communities are offering a helping hand in the search operation,” the family members said.
They requested the general public and civil society members to help them to trace Gurmeet Ji and ensure his safe return. “Anyone having any information about the whereabouts of Er. Gurmeet, are requested to call on 9797199937, 7780831292,” the family appealed.
