Jammu, Nov 28: The Regional Provident Fund Commissioner for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Rizwan Uddin, inaugurated a workshop to discuss and educate stakeholders about the significant social security schemes—Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995, and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976. These crucial schemes have been extended to workers in the region since November 2019, with the aim of providing comprehensive social security.
During the workshop titled ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0’, Rizwan Uddin emphasized the importance of social security in today’s scenario and elucidated the key features of the aforementioned schemes. The session aimed to create awareness and understanding among establishments and employees regarding the benefits and procedures associated with these schemes.
The workshop, lasting over an hour, included an interactive session where issues faced by establishments and employees were discussed. The PF Commissioner and District Nodal Officer Sanjeev Kumar actively engaged in addressing concerns and providing guidance on the effective implementation of the EPF & MP Act, 1952.
The program covered various aspects, including enrollment of members, UAN activation, bank and Aadhaar seeding, online claim filing, filing of e-nominations, e-sign, and filing ECR. Additionally, hands-on training and support were provided for specific tasks, such as settling transfer claims on the spot, training on transfer and advance claims, and guidance on e-sign and document downloads.
In his inaugural address, Commissioner Rizwan highlighted the importance of enrolling a significant number of employees under the PF and Pension Fund. He shared examples of recent accidents in the region where only one month’s contribution had been remitted, leaving families in a precarious situation. He urged employers to ensure timely enrollment to secure the well-being of employees and their dependents.
The workshop served as a platform to enhance awareness about social security benefits. Employers appreciated the efforts of the PF Commissioner and his team and expressed gratitude for the valuable insights provided during the program.
“In these programs, benefits of various EPF schemes were discussed in a full-fledged manner. EPFO J&K and Ladakh are always committed in providing prompt service delivery to all the stakeholders in a transparent, accessible, and convenient manner.
