In a significant development, Kulgam police on Tuesday successfully apprehended three non-local thieves near the Nayvug Tunnel in Qazigund. The trio, traveling in a vehicle with registration number JK02AJ-1027, had reportedly entered the area from Ladakh.
A police officer at UT Ladakh told Rising Kashmir that on Tuesday Leh Police shared an info with Qazigund police regarding theft in the house of escort PSO of one officer of Leh district. They also intimated that theives fled away with service weapon of a police official of Leh district.
“All three were apprehended and were identified as Mohd Abid, Jairul sheikh and Mohd Nizam.
“They were apprehended at Navyug tunnel by Kulgam police,” he said adding that they are the residents of Delhi / UP.
Meanwhile police recovered 1 Pistol , 30 rounds and magazines from their possession
