Leh, Nov 15: In a resolute effort to tackle the rampant issue of drug abuse, District Police Leh achieved a noteworthy breakthrough on Thursday. During a routine patrol at Shey-Sindu Ghat area around 1640 hours, a vigilant patrolling party stumbled upon a suspiciously parked Vehicle Breezza (HP34E 1930).
Upon questioning the driver, who could not produce the required documents and aroused suspicion, a subsequent search uncovered three individuals within the vehicle: Yograj S/O Roop Das R/O Dhamadi Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, Tak Ram S/O Sher Singh R/O Shikhari, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh (Driver), Tsering Tomchos S/O Tashi Murup R/O Skyanos Leh.
The police party seized 986 grams of charas-like substances from both the vehicle and its occupants. Following this discovery, FIR No. 204/2023 U/s 8/20 NDPS Act was promptly registered in P/S Leh, with an ongoing investigation to delve deeper into the matter.
District Police Leh is urging the community to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse by sharing any pertinent information about drug peddlers.
